D.O.S.T.O.N - F.R.I.E.N.D.S Bollywood Ishytle

If the famous american sitcom FRIENDS were to be made in bollywood ishytle who can play part of the 6 friends. This is my imagination and hope you like it. I have selected actors who are good at comedy plus who sort of closely look or atleast act like the famous 6 - Joey,Chandler,Ross,Monica,Rachel and phoebe from friends. Now in the sitcom we all know the profession these guys are into.OK lets do it together here shall we

Joey Tribbiani- Actor

Chandler Bing - statistical analyst

Ross Geller- Paleontologist in a Museum

Monica Geller - Cook/Chef

Rachel Green - waitress at central perk/wrkd at bloomingdale

Phoebe buffay - masseuse

More details about them are

Monica and Ross are siblings

Chandler and Joey are roommates and so are rachel and monica

Monica and rachel are high school mates.

Now that we have covered the details about FRIENDS lets move to my Bollywood version DOSTON. Iam going to list out the names of FRIENDS (as in serial coz everyone is more familiar with that one) and list my pick of bollywood stars for the corresponding FRIENDS character. Here we go

Joey - Salman Khan - his character name will be Prem (no prize for guessing)

Chandler - Saif Ali Khan - his character name Amar

Ross - Akshay Kumar - his name will be Rajiv ( cant think of any so gave him his real name)

Monica - Rani mukherjee - her name will be Priya

Rachel - Preity Zinta - her name is Tina

Phoebe - Lara Dutta - Anjali

Now for their profession in desi style

Prem - Soccer player

Amar - Runs his own Advertising company

Rajiv - Software professional in a huge MNC

Priya - HR executive in an MNC

Tina - Fashion editor in a leading fashion magazine

Anjali - Interior designer who runs her own home store in mumbai

The reason why our bollywood stars are not doing the kind of profession that the actors do in the sitcom is because a glamorous industry like bollywood also choose the owrld best profession for its actors in posh cities in the world ( for eg : paris,london,newyork) but here we have chosen mumbai because its desi version but we are still sticking to the glamorous professions.

Priya and Tina live together (though they have very good jobs they choose to stay together)

Prem and Amar are not exactly roomies here but they stay next to each other

Rajiv stays seperately and so does Anjali, but they all hangout in Priya-Tina's home and in The famous english pub in mumbai 'Geoffreys' (they have glamorous jobs so they have to be meeting in such extravagent places and not plc like central perk in FRIENDS).

Now lets see how they all come together as friends. Tina, priya and rajiv are childhood friends. Their parents are family friends. They all went to same school in Delhi but for college they went differnt places. Rajiv chose to study in the US, while priya studied in a famous business school in Bangalore, Tina went to london to do her course on journalism (our bollywood actors/actress have to go abroad for studies dont they? so i have done justice to it). They all decided to work in Mumbai (dosti ke vasthe).

Priya is a very simple and down to earth girl who values relationship (now u knw why i chose rani). She is very hard working girl who is madly in love with rajiv. Rajiv is a man with style and has this air about him. He draws super salary and has a very busy corporate life. He loves Tina. Tina is a very stylish women, who is bubbly and has this larger than life side to her. With a profession like hers you can expect the kind of life style she must be having. Tina is very career oriented and has absolutely no time for love or romance. She doesn even date.

Amar as i mentioned above runs his own advertising company, meets Prem on a shooting where Prem endorses for a soft drink (most of the players in India do that dont they?). The soft drink company is a client of Amar. Amar knows Tina through their profession and the monthly parties that they have in their media industry. Tina is a regular customer of Anjali's home store. Now we know how they all became friends.

Oh BTW i didnt tell you about amar,prem and anjali. Amar is a very cool headed guy who is crazy about the work he does. He is a party freak and is hooked to some woman or other. Prem being a soccer player, he is a fitness freak, complete care-a-damn about anything attitude. He loves partying too. So thats the reason Prem and Amar are friends. Anjali is a divorcee and she is a very pratical and sensible woman.

DOSTON, is not a comedy sitcom (in india we dont believe in making comedy serials but saas-bahu soaps which will reach mass audience compared to a very few who would watch a sitcom).

DOSTON is about the lives of the 6 people lives, their love,career, friendship.

Directed by Karan Johar, music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, the movie features a song where you will see special appearance by Kajol and Shah rukh (Its a karan johar movie, what do you expect).

I want leave you all with your creativity flowing in here about how the story unfolds, how their friendship will turn into romance and that inturn affectin the relationship they share. All 6 seperated and going away from mumbai and how finally they come together with the help of Tina's parents Amitabh Bachan and jaya bachan, Rajiv's parents anupam kher and kiron kher, Priya's parents Suresh oberoi and reema lagoo.

Thats DOSTON ladies and gentlemen. Its all about loving your FRIENDS.

With that we start hating the idea of watching FRIENDS again and start cursing all the TV channels for showcasing this sitcom from which Karan Johar steals the idea to make yet another emotional and stupid drama about relationships (he has spoken about Parents, infedility,widow's love, now friendship is the last one left so we hope since Karan will be left with no more ideas on any more relationship, this will be his last and final movie)
