Huh?? what kind of topic is that? Well iam trying to review 3 movies here. Spider man 3,Mozhi (tamil) and Tararumpum (hindi).
Spiderman 3 (starring Tobey Maguire,Kirsten Dunst)
That don't impress me much. For once i felt iam watching a Vijayakanth picture. I thought hollywood movie go by some standard but this one seems just substandard. So much money spent but what are they trying to do here. This movie is more or less a continuation of the part 1 where his friend Harry's father gets killed and so is his uncle. While spidey tries to take revenge of the killer of his uncle,harry tries to kill spidey for killing his dad. When harry realises that his dad died oh his own he goes out to rescue spidey who is attacjed by the sand man (the uncle's killer who suddenly becomes a sandman because he falls into a pit that sucks the flesh out of him and fills it with sand..LOL kidding. ya but something like that) and the black spiderman, parkers colleague who was humilated and fired from work. Spidey kills the black spiderman, the sandman apologicies to spidey saying that he killed his uncle by mistake and in all this hungama, Harry gets killed. Thats spiderman 3 for you.
Now the reason why you should watch Spiderman 3 is for the special effects and if you wish to see fatter parker (he has gained a few pounds) then you may go ahead. The reason why you should not watch spiderman 3 is because you you think that this is going to be as good as part 2 then you are wrong. I hope they dont come with a part 4 coz we have already had a heavy dos cant take it anymore. Spare us spidey.
Mozhi (Tamil-color *ing Jothika,Prithviraj,Prakashraj,swarnamalya)
A beautiful language that is spoken without words sweeps off your feet and makes you want to watch more movies like this one. Kudoos to Prakashraj for making a movie like this one which does not have silly romance that neither involves hero-heroine running around trees nor heroine's father hiring gundas to kill hero. The hero is the background music composer for movies and his friend is prakashraj, hero meets Jothika and falls for her immediatly not knowing the fact that she cant speak nor can she hear. Later when he does he loves her even more. They become friends through swarnamalya,jothikas friend. When he expresses his love to her she backs out, the reason being her tragic past that leaves a deep wound inside her that she doesn give a chance to heal and how the hero convinces her and how they lived happily ever after is the story. Very simple story but woven well around the characters of karthik,archana,viji and sheila. Movie has a good score of music, Jothika as usual gives a powerful performance and prakashraj gives another beautiful and meaningful film after kanda naal mudhal. Mozhi, is a must watch and i would rate it as one of the best movies i have seen so far.
Tararumpum (hindi color *ing Saif Ali Khan,Rani Mukerjee,Javed Jafferi)
Made with a backdrop of car racing,tararumpum fails miserably. The movie is shot in the US and Rani gives a very sad performance as a hip uptown Us girl. She not only looks sad in her hairstyle and skimpy outfits she performs even more misrably with her 'You like' accent. Saif, a pit stop tyre changer becomes a overnite car racer,thanks to our very own guju man,javed jafferi. Javed's similar joke like salaam namaste leaves a bitter taste in the tongue. Its just old wine in new bottle. How saif falls down the ladder that he climbed overnite, due to a fatal accident and how he recovers from it and comes out as a racer is the movie. Typical bollywood is'nt it. Kunal could'nt do the hum-tum magic here. The music of the movieid pretty good, rani looks better in the later half. The kids - princess and champ are the best in the movie. Tararumpum though is accessorised well and exteriors looks good doesn give the mileage and is'nt that importanat for a car to sell. Well its the same here too.
