My Manhattan Dreams

Like most women i dig chik lits and a total sucker for romcoms. If Hollywood comes out with so many romcoms every year its because of us. If people are uploading romcoms on torrents its because ladies like me download them every single day (other than the days your hubby downloads audio books or your bro downloads mortal combat or Lost). But to cut the long story short what i love about most of these romcoms is that apart from the fact that they all have fairytale endings and features ladies flaunting and speaking the language of Prada, is that it shows the city of love, Manhattan. In my mind i have always visualised Manhattan to be the most romantic place in the whole wide world. Thanks to Hollywood. Be it The sleepless in Seattle famous Empire state building or You've got mail famous Central Park or those streets strutted by Carrie and her best friends or the coffee shop haunted by Monica, Chandler, Joe, Rachel, Ross and Phoebe. Its written all over the place. Its the place everyone of us (atleast the romcom lovers) would like to see and experience what it would be like to fall in love in a city that looks most romantic and serene during Christmas. Maybe the city is just blown out of proportion in these movies or maybe it does bring love to many lives. Will have to see it to know it but until then will continue to fantasize about the city that brought romance to silver screen.
